Erongi People uses crowd-funding to allow members to make small financial investments in clean-tech project. And at the same time, Erongi People offers members a way for their investments to offset their fossil fuel purchases and other eco-contaminants.
Through small incremental investments, members provide capital for a number of ecologically sensible and economically viable projects. Carefully chosen projects can include ideas for clean water and food, energy and waste.
The phone app acts as a credit card as well as an investment management tool. With both purchases and clean-tech investments managed by the app, members can choose to fund favorite projects each time they purchase energy. The positive global benefits of each investment are displayed instantly on the phone app. And through crowd-sourcing of all members, each individual member can also see the collected, incremental positive effects of their entire Erongi People tribe.
Erongi is a group of reality-based people who can no longer ignore the mismanagement of our global environment. Erongi members are taking personal responsibility – and doing something about it – by investing their our own money in green ideas and businesses. Each time we pay for gasoline, oil or coal-generated electricity, we then also add a little more money to our purchase by investing funds in our own green portfolio account. That way, each hydrocarbon purchase automatically adds to our personal investments in sustainable ideas and businesses. We are investing our own money in our future.
The Erongi community is aiming towards a goal of net zero three areas: water, waste and energy.

You are investing your money into your own account. It’s your money. It’s your investments. It’s your account. Erongi is simply a forum for members to pool resources into various assets to demonstrate the financial potency needed to change attitudes on Main Street, Wall Street and in Congress.
Our corporate entity, 3NetZero, is negotiating with financial firms to create seamless green financial mechanisms for Erongi member investments. As with any investment, each Erongi member chooses which investments are best for them from a growing list of green investment opportunities. And investment decisions are aided by our Erongi community forums where we learn what others invest in as well as Eneref Institute Senior Fellows.
While investment opportunities will begin in 2013, we need you to sign up. As early adaptors your vote of confidence will give the 3NetZero Company the authority needed to negotiate with major financial firms and create the best investment opportunities.
Each Erongi members chooses for themselves what amount of money to add to their green portfolio, either by some percentage of their non-sustainable purchase or by some flat rate.
For example, members may choose to add 10% to their cost to fill their gas tank, or add a flat addition of, say, $1.00 per gallon. Alternatively, members could set a flat base price above the actual price they pay for oil or gasoline or kilowatt hours – and invest the difference between their established base price and the actual price paid.
Erongi is an initiative of Eneref Institute, a leading research organization in sustainable development. Erongi members have access to Eneref Institute senior fellows – a diverse group of experienced industry experts in various renewable fields. Senior fellows suggest ideas and technologies based on potential market growth and on eco-sustainability. And through the Erongi community, members learn what others invest in.
In this way, the purchases each of us are obliged to make each day in non-sustainable goods and services can add to both our own future investment portfolio and a more sustainable earth.
A smartphone app, of course! The 3NetZero company is now developing an app to be launched over three stages.
Set to launch in 2013, 3NetZero is first developing an app that prompts you to contribute to your green portfolio based on your gasoline (or other hydrocarbon) purchase – but also guides you on how detrimental your purchase just was to our global ecology – in energy, water and waste.
The second stage of the app will send a notice to your financial institution to move funds directly into your green portfolio.
Stage three will do much more, by automating the entire process – from purchase to investment. 3NetZero will launch a smartphone app that is an electronic wallet on the purchase side of the equation and a send-money-to-my-portfolio on the investment side. 3NetZero is also collaborating with oil companies, banks and credit card companies to create a seamless purchase-to-investment transaction without the app.
